As an artist and instructor, sometimes we fail to plan downtime for ourselves. When I was given the opportunity to bring a group of art students to Tallapoosa School of Art, I decided to plan an "Art Retreat" rather than a workshop. The schedule allowed the participants and myself some free time to choose from local activities. I chose swimming in the lake a kayaking while others painted and read by the dock. All were rejuvenated from their stay and want to return someday.
