In February 2018, René De Silvestro was only three years into his sit-skiing career when this short film was produced together with Giovanni Pellegrini and Ginko Films. At the time, René had just earned his first Para Alpine Skiing World Cup podium and was preparing to compete at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games. Over the years that followed, René became one of the most accomplished athletes in Para Alpine Skiing. His achievements include: • Paralympic silver medal – Giant Slalom, Beijing 2022 • Paralympic bronze medal – Slalom, Beijing 2022 • World Champion – Super Combined, Lillehammer 2021 • World Champion – Giant Slalom, Maribor 2025 • Multiple Para Alpine Skiing World Cup victories and podium finishes Eight years later, René serves as remote flag bearer at the opening ceremony of his home Paralympic Games in Milano Cortina, only a few kilometers from where this film was originally shot.
