MEDIA ADVISORY Texas Oncology–San Antonio to Partner with Angeles Sin Fronteras to Provide Free Wigs and Cosmetic Kits to Local Cancer Patients Cancer Patients Receiving Chemotherapy and Needing Free Wigs Are Invited to Register Now WHAT: Texas Oncology – San Antonio is partnering with Angeles Sin Fronteras to provide free wigs and cosmetic kits for local cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and patients with alopecia. Patients are invited to register by calling Teresita Castello at 956-533-0664. This is the first time that Angeles Sin Fronteras will donate wigs in San Antonio, and organizers expect to fit 70 wigs and distribute cosmetic kits, along with scarves, love and beauty. The distribution day will be Saturday, February 8 at “Restoring Confidence, One Smile at a Time.” Angeles Sin Fronteras is a non-profit organization that for the last 12 years has helped women undergoing chemotherapy feel good about themselves by donating wigs that resemble their hair and that are to their liking during one of the most difficult moments of their lives, chemotherapy treatment. The group works to help patients feel and look better, transforming their lives with beauty. The organization delivers an average of 500 wigs annually in the United States and Mexico. Organizers of Angeles Sin Fronteras will be in San Antonio for media interviews, beginning at noon at Texas Oncology – San Antonio Medical Center, 5206 Research Blvd. Teresita Castello, founder, speaks Spanish. She started the group in 2012, the same year she was diagnosed with breast cancer. We will have wigs and cosmetic kits displayed and a patient willing to be interviewed. We also can provide b-roll footage from previous fitting events on request. Saturday, February 8. Wigs will be fitted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Texas Oncology – San Antonio Medical Center, 5206 Research Blvd. There will be snacks, music, raffle prizes and much more.
