I sometimes ask myself, what is it that makes a face? Some people ask me where do you start? The answer is the face dictates where I start. I start by drawing the feature that is the 'it' factor. I use that "it" factor to express what the face looks like in as least lines as I can draw to still capture the essence. Doing this efficiently on the spot shows the person's likeness very quickly.
