VN24 - Salvage after serious accident involving school bus and truck (part 2)

VN24 - 29-11-2024 (D/M/Y) - Lippetal (B475) / Germany - (Part 2) Two people were injured in a serious traffic accident on the B475 federal highway near Lippetal. At around midday, a truck with a semi-trailer had driven almost unbraked into the middle of a school bus that was trying to turn left from a side road onto the main road with right of way. Fortunately, the driver of the bus had let the last group of schoolchildren off at a bus stop just a few meters earlier. This meant that there were no more passengers on the bus. The bus driver suffered minor injuries in the accident. Not so the truck driver. This 30-year-old man was severely trapped in his cab and suffered very serious injuries, but is now out of danger of losing his life. This rescue operation by the fire department lasted for two and a half hours.
