I Believe in Music: Usha Uthup & Sanjoy K. Roy Usha Uthup or ‘didi’, as she is fondly called, has recorded more than 100 albums in 17 Indian languages and performed thousands of concerts. Uthup has served as a role model for generations of young Indians and has been an unwavering ambassador for traditional Indian values. She has represented India in festivals organised by the Government of India in Hong Kong, Mauritius, Nairobi, East Africa, Kenya and others. She received the coveted Padma Shri Award in 2011. Sanjoy K. Roy, an entrepreneur of the arts, is Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, which produces over 25 highly acclaimed performing arts, visual arts and literary festivals across 40 cities including the world’s largest free literary gathering — the annual ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival. Roy, a National Award awardee for the film Shahjahanabad: The Twilight Years, is a founder trustee of Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT) working to provide support services for street and working children in the inner city of Delhi. In 2011 the White House presented SBT the US President’s Committee of Arts and Humanities Award for an International Organisation.
