The Killers - Sydney - December 6 2024

I thought I should put aside my dislike for arena shows and finally see The Killers. Sydney and Melbourne were privileged to get two unique concerts, ‘Rebel Diamonds’ and ‘Hot Fuss’. While the later was something special, it made more sense, having never seen them live before, that I went to the greatest hits gig. They played an epic 22 songs, not entirely limited to their ‘Rebel Diamonds’ release. I recorded eight songs: Somebody Told Me (00:07) Jenny Was a Friend of Mine (03:50) On Top (07:33) A Dustland Fairytale (12:08) Be Still (16:03) All These Things That I've Done (21:22) Your Side of Town (30:24) boy (34:14) It was certainly a spectacular performance and the band sounded great. The audience loved every moment of it. And while I’m very pleased that I finally saw The Killers live, the night didn’t change my mind about venues that are so big that they require video screens beside the stage. I suppose I just like my music a little more intimate.
