Green Travel Destination is a new travel series in which our host, Erin Tjoe, ventures around the world to locations chosen for their natural beauty, abundance and "off the grid" characteristics. Our beautiful and vibrant host leads the audience on wild journeys to locations as far as Bhutan and Costa Rica, and as close by as Napa, California. While on location, Tjoe profiles sustainable resorts and explores the local food and customs, all with the aim of exposing the audience to new and exciting opportunities to travel sustainably and experience a healthy vacation. She introduces the indigenous people of the region, describes their ancient medicines and food-gathering techniques, and participates in local ceremonies and events. In addition to providing entertainment, viewers of GTD will come away with helpful tips for sustainable healthy living. Our team rates each location based on a scale that uses several criteria including the source of the location's power, the sourcing of its meals and the materials and processes used in building the resort.
