Charles of Twisted Gypsy demonstrates The Twisted Bendir, a custom frame drum modified by Twisted Gypsy Drumming. This is Twisted Bendir #3, of the limited First Series of seven. Starting with a 14" Frame Drum, we add a custom cut Comfort Notch that is lined in deerskin. Then we cut and finish a lower zill slot, and use a pair of high quality brass zills for unique projection. We also set a series of strings inside the drum, in contact with the drumhead, to give the drum the traditional buzz of a bendir. The resulting drum is perfect for ensemble drumming, and a lot of fun when used as a solo instrument.
