Now I can throw it with the other Sonic fangames like Sonic vs Darkness, Emerald Ties, Sonic Edge of Darkness (what's with Sonic fangames and the word "darkness"?), Sonic Utopia (I think) and other Sonic fangames I don't know about that I hope some of my commenters will fill me in. Why cover it now after 4 years? Well, because I think even in it's unfinished stage, the demo for Sonic Neo Genesis is still pretty cool and shows some really great level design that other fangame creators should take note. From the level themes, to the creative use of gimmicks to the boppin' original soundtrack. It might not look as impressive now as it looked 4 years ago (remember this was before Sonic Mania was even announced) but I still think it's pretty solid all things considered. It's a bit weird how you don't even have a spindash when starting on a fresh save and you unlock more moves if you find golden emblems. I actually like that it encourages exploring for something other than secret giant rings or extra lives. Here I do a full playthrough with Sonic and the first 2 stages with Knuckles to showcase alternate routes. Yes, you can actually play as Knuckles in this demo if you press Start while holding the A button.
