It is not easy to find because the restaurant's policy is to have customers wait in their cars rather than outside the restaurant, but the restaurant is famous for its great popularity. The owner, who says he grew up eating “Katsuura tantanmen” since he was a child, makes a golden soup with chicken bones and dried bonito flakes from Katsuura. The owner also handmakes the raayu (Chinese chili oil) and white soy sauce that are indispensable for Katsuura tantanmen, and the ramen is so popular that some customers come all the way from far away to try it. The restaurant is run by a father and son team, and although it is very busy, the owner's attention to detail and concern for his customers makes it a very heartwarming place to eat. I tried “Katsuura Tantanmen” for the first time and was surprised at first because it was indeed spicy. But gradually I could taste the sweetness of the onions and the delicious flavor of the soup, and it was so good that I was hooked on the spicy and delicious ramen. As the owner says, it is indeed addictive and I would like to eat it again even if I remember it. Also, the owner and his family are all very nice and took us to various morning markets and sightseeing spots, which gave us good memories of Katsuura, thank you very much.
