TRIP REPORT | Business Upgrade to Punta Cana | Discover Airlines A330-300 | Vienna to Punta Cana

Discover Airlines Trip Report (as known as Eurowings Discover) flying from Frankfurt to Punta Cana onboard one of the Eurowings A330, in business class, on a lovely winter day. Before, we flew to Frankfurt with Austrian also in Business Class. An absolutely amazing trip, one of the most amazing I've ever done. We were initially booked in economy on the first one and premium economy on the second. For the Vienna-Frankfurt we got a super-cheap offer during check-in and went in business and, for the Frankfurt-PuntaCana we got a free, non-requested upgrade to business at the boarding gate! You can imagine how excited we were, especially when this was the beginning of a holiday cruise in the Caribbean. After having breakfast at the Austrian Business Lounge we boarded the A320 that would quickly take us to Frankfurt. It was a pleasant flight on the Austrian Business Class. An on-time arrival in Frankfurt was the most important, as we had a connecting flight with a terminal change. We had a nice planespotting session at Frankfurt airport while walking to the C gates. Our A330 arrived on time from its flight from Punta Cana. When seated at the gate I got a notification that the new boarding cards were available. I went to the counter and they confirmed the upgrade! Maybe for the Miles&More status... maybe just luck. But the important as that we were going to cross the Atlantic in business and on the best seat available! We took off from the central runway in Frankfurt towards the west and started our route to Punta Cana. There was a huge and strong jetstream over the Atlantic so our route would be much more to the north than usual. We flew over The Netherlands, the UK, and Ireland before entering the Atlantic Ocean, heading towards Canada. We reached St. Johns and we then made a 90° turn southbound towards the Caribbean. After almost 10 hours of flying and some very nice views, including Bermuda, we landed on time in Punta Cana International Airport, after a beautiful approach over the Dominican Republic. About the onboard service, well, it was fantastic. All the food was very tasty. There were 2 main services and one midflight snack. Everything was really good. Drinks were available at all times during the flight as well as light snacks. You'll be able to see the menus on the Trip Report as well a many of the meal options themselves. The purpose of this flight was to take a cruise ship holiday trip with Costa Cruises on the Costa Pacifica ship around the Caribbean Sea. I will add some clips of that at the end of the Trip Report.
