See part one of the video where the table position was adjusted to reach the slouched sitting position. Now, the Mayfield head clamp is fixed just below the equator of the head. The head is tilted towards the right shoulder and rotated to the left (the same side as the tumor) so that the cerebellar hemisphere would fall away from the operative trajectory - a nuance which Majid Saami had described. We take care not to tighten too much or to damage the ventriculoperitoneal shunt. In the sitting position there is not much load on the head and hence 40 to 60 pounds per square inch pressure setting is enough.
