Composer: Pierre-Octave Calixte Ferroud (6 January 1900 – 17 August 1936) Pianist: Marie-Catherine Girod (born 19 August 1949) A blues and jazz-inspired pianistic paraphrase of the second movement, 'Air', of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)'s third orchestral suite in D major, BWV 1068, more commonly known as 'Air on the G string' after August Wilhelmj's arrangement (hence its name). Ferroud transposes the key a whole-tone downwards into C major and titles the piece and in its tempo marking in English, especially dignifying the latter through the words: 'Very much deferential'. Published in 1929 by La sirène musicale in Paris as part of the series '13 danses' along with twelve other composers. As per the description of this channel, I do not own anything within this video.
