In today's video I am comparing the Rolex Explorer to the Casio G-Shock. On the surface, this comparison doesn't make much sense. However, these are both famous and popular examples of field watches and tool watches, albeit at vastly different price points. Starting at just $50, the Casio G-Shock gives you everything you need from a tool watch perspective. 200 meters of water resistance is joined by a world time function, stopwatch, countdown timer, and more to create the ultimate wearing experience. So then why would you buy anything, especially something like the Rolex Explorer which retails for over $7000. That comes down to the history, design, and quality of Rolex watches or really any other alternatives from brands like Omega, Grand Seiko, and Cartier. The class and luxury feeling cannot be supplemented with a Casio G-Shock. Sure a luxury watch like this doesn't have any significant features of note, but again, it's not really about that.
