A link to the community post from brother Gregg: / @salvationiseasy-op2qs The post says: Many self professing Christians are incorrectly taught and believe that unless there is a radical demonstrably change in one's life that they didn't genuinely believe the Gospel and aren't saved. This of course is a tenet of Calvinism (the "p" in the Calvinist TULIP "perseverance of the saints.") And of course it's totally unbiblical. And the reason it is such a dangerous belief/teaching is that it instills fear, uncertainty and doubt among believers who constantly wonder if they "truly believed" based on what they perceive to be their "demonstrably changed life." Believers all grow at different rates and some stay more carnal than others and it doesn't negate that even the most carnal believer is saved by God's grace alone through faith alone in the finished redemptive work on The Cross alone of the Eternally Existing Son of God Jesus Christ ALONE!!! The Bible teaches that we can know we have eternal life which is the Life of Jesus Christ when we believe on Him alone for salvation. (1st John 5:9-13). The fact we believe The Gospel is the proof we are saved forever. Because the Holy Spirit inside us testifies and bears witness to the Truth of The Gospel. It's not our "demonstrably changed life" (which is a totally arbitrary standard) that "proves" we are saved. The assurance of salvation is solely based on the fact we believe God's testimony concerning His Son (i.e., that He gives ETERNAL LIFE to all who believe on His Name.) (1st John 5:9-13). Mark and avoid anyone who tells you differently...
