Fetish is a term that is generally understood in context of psychoanalysis. But may of the objects we may characterize as "African art" is a result of the natives understanding of certain objects as fetish, that is, as having power over other things or themselves. Therefore for a fuller understanding of "art of Africa" we need to look more into it. This lecture was recorded during a live lecture imparted online.
