Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus must be applied in accordance to the manufacturers instructions. This product should be brush applied in a temperature range of between 5℃ and 35℃ - Relative humidity maximum 85%. Timber surfaces to be treated with Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus must be suitably prepared i.e. clean, dry and free from surface dust, dirt, wax and grease. Wood to be treated with Sikkens Cetol 7 should be allowed to acclimatise to its end-use environment before treating. Moisture content of the timber should not exceed 18% prior to coating. Degrease any exposed bare timber surface by wiping with a cloth dampened in a suitable solvent. Certain timber species contain high levels of natural wood extractives or exudates and some softwood can be highly resinous. Resinous deposits should be removed with a scraper. Any remaining residues should be removed using a lint-free cloth dampened with a suitable solvent, frequently changing the face of the cloth. Allow solvent to evaporate fully before over coating. The use of both eye and hand protection is strongly advised when applying Sikkens Filter 7 Plus. If using a wood filler, ensure that it is one that is specifically designed for use with timber. General or all purpose fillers may not be suitable. Only use non-ferrous screws, nails and fixings. Base stained joinery should be denibbed using a fine grade nylon abrasive pad or a fine grade (P240 or finer) wet or dry silicon carbide abrasive paper, in the direction of the grain. Do not break through the surface coating. Remove all dust. To ensure optimum durability and uniformity of appearance, Sikkens recommend a coat of Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus plus prior to finishing. Note: Where there is localised damage, or deterioration has occurred as a result of exposure of the factory coating for longer than 3 months, affected areas should be thoroughly sanded back to a sound substrate. Decayed timber must be removed and replaced, cutting at least 25mm into sound timber. The use of wood hardeners is not recommended. . Application Sikkens Cetol 7 is ready to use straight from the tin and does not require thinning. Contents of the tin must be stirred thoroughly before and periodically during application to ensure a consistent finish. This product should only be applied in temperatures ranging between 5℃ and 35℃ and a relative humidity of no more than 85%. Apply with a good quality paint brush. Equipment Cleaning Clean application brushes and equipment immediately after use with White Spirit. Storage Keep the lid tightly sealed and the tin in an upright position at all times to avoid spillages. Store Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus in dry conditions at temperatures between 5℃ and 30℃.
