She is a visiting faculty for the Department of Indian music, University of Madras and several other reputed universities around the world for performing arts and dance history. Here is an excerpt of a rare composition in chakravakam and adi talam. This is by Sri Ponnaiyya of the Tanjore quartette. O! compassionate one, this I cannot bear! Please shower all your blessings and compassion on me. In this entire world, you are the greatest. What's wrong then, if I am yearning to unite with you? A young nayika, who is enamored by Brihadeeshwara. Perhaps she is one of the several hundred devadasis who were in service to Him. She is begging for his attention. The awe inspiring Sri Vimanam, it being the stula lingam and the ether above being the perambalam, the prapanja tatvam, the sadasiva tatvam where siva is worshipped as a five faced Lord maybe some of the ideas I will engage to depict. The next is a excerpt of a padam of kshetrayya. The nayika or heroine is intensely in love with Muvva Gopala. At the same time she is deeply hurt that he is dallying with other women in town. O! lotus eyed maiden, do not complain about him to me, he is my muvva gopala notwithstanding all this. When he used to come to me and with unending love pinch my cheeks and unite with me, he has left lasting marks of his nails on my person. We have spent hours in tight embrace savouring each other's lips, still un satiated. O girl with darting eyes! Can my mind ever forget the taste of his adhara, please do not complain about him to me. A very distressed woman in a deep sense of denial, in Freudian terms she is in a state of melancholia, where each single one of the memories and hopes that bound the libido to the object is brought up and hyper ventilated upon. This process of carrying out the behest of reality bit by bit is extraordinarily painful and inexplicable. But somehow after much mourning and lament the ego hopes to become free and uninhibited again. Kshetrayya- goulipantu BOTH COMPOSITIONS CHOREOGRAPHED AND PRESENTED BY SWARNAMALYA GANESH.
