This is the first of the BYU Faculty AI Video series. The purpose of the video series is to help faculty, and others, who want to increase their understanding of AI technologies so that they can use them more effectively in their jobs and in their lives. Glossary of terms from this video↓. stochastic = random GenAI = Generative AI, AI that creates content (versus just classifying content). LLM = Large Language Model (takes text as input and produces text as output). training corpus = the content used to train an AI model. inference = using an LLM to produce output based on an input prompt (and context). context = the information given to an LLM at the time of inference, to help the LLM come up with a good answer. AGI = Artificial General Intelligence, which is an AI model capable of adapting to different situations as humans can adapt. superintelligence = an AI model that can improve itself, autonomously, and thus exceed the abilities provided by the humans who created it. deep fake = an AI output that attempts to replicate real life situations in (often) deceiving ways.
