Graphite & Fine-liner Texture Study ✏️ Lines, Dots & Shading | Calm Creative Session

In today’s session, I’m exploring texture using graphite pencils and black fine-liners in my sketchbook. I tested a range of pencils from H to 8B, experimenting with shading, hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling in long flowing lines to feel the shift between hardness and softness. Then I moved into fine-liners, using different nib sizes to explore line weight, rhythm, and contrast. At the end, I used pencils and ink to create small texture squares filled with dots, lines, circles, and layered marks. This session is about noticing tools, building confidence with line, and enjoying the tactile process of drawing. Use any pencils or pens you have, and adapt it to your own pace.
