I have upgraded my Dahon Speed UNO with almost everything in the last 2 years of owning it. The headset is one of the last things on the list. The old headset that came on the Dahon Speed UNO was starting to bind and be sloppy. Probably it is due to the front mounting bracket easily letting in water to then sit on the lower bearing. The lower bearing after pulling it out felt very crunchy vs the top. I looked up headsets and saw Cane Creek makes a 44mm and so does LitePro. Then since I like the Chris King headsets so much after I installed Drop Set 4 bearings on the Standard 125R BMX frames, I looked up a 44mm internal version known as the Inset 1. The Inset 1 was discontinued on the Chris King website. Other Insets are still sold that use a 44mm top cup, but due to the tapered fork fad, only have bearings on the bottom end for the taper forks. I found this Inset 1 on ebay fortunately. Otherwise I would of had to get two Inset 2 or 3s and have 1.5 52mm bottom bearings sitting around. The headset installed with ease. Helpful tools at the shop I work at were around. I just wish I had more table space. Maybe a tripod. I even made adapters out of old used cane creek internal cups to help press this headset into the frame. I'd say it was a success! Tools used: Bike stand (yes something I don't have at home) Hammer Park CRP2 (crown race puller)aka what I call the brain sucker Park CRS1 (crown race press) Park RT1 (headset cup "ehem" remover that needed the hammer) Park HHP2 (headset cup press) Used Cane Creek 44mm internal cups (head cup press adapters "home made") 10mm allen (for the headset preload cap) 6mm allen (for the Dahon handlepost stem clamp) Basic marine grease from hardware store (for all metal contact points. Really? You'd rather everything seize?) Camera: Samsung S20 5G stand? boxes, chairs, hand. (swore the shop had a tripod) edited with KdenLive
