Eleven Palestinian families from a Bedouin community in the village of al-Mughayyir, near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, dismantled their homes and left the area on February 21, citing a rise in settler violence and restrictions on their livelihoods. Residents say more than 50 people packed their belongings after months of escalating harassment. Community member Amjad Kaabneh said families could no longer live normally under the pressure. Israeli human rights group B’Tselem has documented repeated incidents of violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports a sharp increase in settler violence since early 2025. According to UN data, 2025 has been one of the most violent years on record for Israeli civilian attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank, with more than 750 reported injuries and continued expansion of outposts on land Palestinians seek for a future state. Between October 7, 2023 and October 17, 2025, more than 1,000 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank, mostly during Israeli security operations and some in settler-related violence, according to the UN. During the same period, 57 Israelis were killed in Palestinian attacks. #WestBank #Ramallah #Palestine #SettlerViolence #BedouinCommunity #MiddleEastNews #IsraelPalestine #Displacement #HumanRights #UN #OCHA #BTSalem #OccupiedTerritories --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dawn News English is your window into the latest news, insight, and features from South Asia and beyond.
