2018 Loeries, Pendoring and AMASA multilingual gold award winning project, designed by Ronel Irvine (UJ Graphic Design), and researched by Palesa Tsele and Kristen Landsberg (UJ Strategic Communications) Lion Marches - Ignite Memories is a campaign that aims to enhance the brand experience and to elevate its brand story, emotional persona and consumer relatability. The campaign is based upon using the idea of memory and nostalgia to appeal to the human emotion and to create an emotional bond between the brand and consumer. The key idea to the campaign is that for every match used, there is a memory attached to the experience that the match was used for. The campaign specifically presents five individual and/or community based experiences from the past to highlight the role Lion matches have played in the lives of South Africans and how sometimes the most treasured memories have occurred over fire. Not only will the campaign create a feeling of reminiscence, but it will also encourages the viewer to think about their personal memories that they have with Lion matches. The aim is to make the viewer realize that a product as small as a match have and can create big moments and memories.
