I cannot believe this video has already been illegally re-uploaded! Just so you know, I will immediately file copyright infringement for any illegal copies of this video! Warning: I do show a urinary stoma and catheterization techniques in this video. Some viewers may find this "graphic," however I'm guessing if you're watching this, you are familiar with these things. May not be suitable for a younger or squeamish viewer. Thanks! In this video I show how I cath/empty my Indiana Pouch I received after I had my bladder and urethra removed. I hope it provides a fun look into the process of voiding my pouch using a catheter and answers any questions you may have! Feel free to comment below with comments or questions and I will try to get back to you when I can. If you are thinking of having a cystectomy, I hope this eases some of your fears. As you can see, it's pretty easy to void the pouch and my stoma is very small and cooperative with me. Information about Indiana Pouches: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana_... Information about cystectomies: http://www.mayoclinic.org/cystectomy/... An Indiana Pouch is an internal pouch made of large intestine that replaced a bladder that has had to be removed due to Interstitial Cystitis, Cancer, etc. A stoma made of small intestine is a port that connects the pouch to the outside of the abdomen. The stoma is cathed to empty urine from the pouch. This is just one outcome of a cystectomy (bladder removal), and remember, not all IC patients will need their bladder removed!
