In this video, Equilibar Engineering Manager, Tony Tang, compares Equilibar® high temperature (HT) back pressure regulator models. Tony discusses the similarities and differences in the construction and assembly of the Grafoil high temperature back pressure regulator and the metal c-ring model. The Grafoil model can withstand temperatures up to 450 °C, whereas the silver coated inconel c-ring model can withstand temperatures up to 650 °C depending on system pressure. Both HT regulator models use metal diaphragms. At 650 °C, NPT fittings cannot be used, so welded fittings are standard. At 450°C, NPT or welded fittings can be used. Maintenance and assembly of the two models are slightly different and Tony gives details for each. The gasket in the Grafoil model must be replaced each time the regulator is disassembled for maintenance. The metal c-ring will need to be replaced after two or three maintenance cycles.
