He is a founding member of the group Underground Resistance as a 'Minister of Information' with Mad Mike Banks and Jeff Mills. He is often considered to be one of the founders of minimal techno. In 1994, Hood founded the minimal techno label M-Plant in Detroit. Rekids is a UK-based independent record label founded in 2006 by Matt Edwards (aka Radio Slave) and James Masters. Known for its cutting-edge releases in techno, house, and disco-infused electronic music, Rekids quickly became a staple in the global underground scene. The label has released music from influential artists like Nina Kraviz, Mr. G, DJ Sneak, Carl Craig, and Claude VonStroke, while maintaining a strong visual identity through collaborations with designers like Red Design. With sublabels like REK'D and multimedia offshoots such as Pyramids of Mars, Rekids continues to push forward-thinking sounds from its bases in London and Berlin.
