Here we go then, it's that time of the year again and the gauntlet has been thrown down for the 2024 Single Seed Potato Challenge! Many thanks again to Bridgend Garden Centre for their sponsorship - please do go and check them out: https://www.bridgendgardencentre.co.uk/ The potato is a maincrop variety and I will start to send them out as soon as they arrive :) RULES 1 One entry per channel 2 UK mainland only, sorry. But, if anyone in Northern Ireland wants to take part I am happy to send the spud – at your risk! 3 Submit one video of the planting of the potato, either with or without showing the cutting of the pieces. Feel free to film and show your progress throughout the year. If you cannot film a video then photos will do – just send them to me and I’ll cobble them together for you. Also, if you do not have a YouTube channel or you do not want to upload the videos then send them to me and I’ll make sure your efforts are seen! 4 Submit one video of the harvest by 31st October WITHOUT revealing the weight. 5 Please film the videos in landscape format – that is with your phone on its side. It makes it so much easier for me to edit the footage without losing parts of your video. 6 Potatoes are to be grown outdoors but can be started indoors 7 You MUST use hashtag #SSPC2024 in video titles or descriptions so that I can find your videos easily and add them to the playlist. If not, they may not appear. HOW TO ENTER Send an email to me at this address: [email protected] to let me know that are interested in entering the challenge. Include your name and the postal address of where you would like your seed potato delivered and if applicable, your YouTube channel name. A payment of £3.50 is required to cover the postage & packaging fees. I can accept PayPal, Bank Transfer, or a £3.50 Amazon gift card for the payment.
