While deep sea fishing about 15 miles off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, my son Carson hooked into something big. At first we had no idea just how big it was. The rod was bent, the reel was screaming, and the fight seemed to go on forever. Eventually a massive marlin surfaced beside the boat, measuring over 5 feet long and weighing around 120 pounds. It was easily the largest fish I have ever seen in real life. Catching a marlin had been a bucket list dream for Carson for years. He has watched countless deep sea fishing videos and never imagined he would experience this so soon. This trip was especially meaningful for our family because my two sons had not seen each other for nearly four years while serving their church missions.
