Testing 1: Kato N Scale Shinkansen (Bullet Trains) Unitrack

This started as a simple Kato Unitrack V13 double track viaduct oval tracks but was expanded a bit to make the oval bigger. To facilitate various shinkansens to run in the oval, a custom turnout was created to have an incline from ground to viaduct height. Another turnout incline would have to be created for the outside tracks of the viaduct - coming soon. A custom viaduct station was made using a 6" diameter PVC tube with rectangular cutouts to view the trains. Custom passenger platforms have been made as well with a total length of 1240 mm each. Due to its design, different looking station facades could be used to suit any modern genre. A custom roadway based on Kato's station roadway was also created - but the design was reversed. It was printed on an outdoor decal mounted to 1/8" thick sintra board. Trains running: Kato series 500 Nozomi, Tomix series 800 Tsubame and Kato Dr. Yellow shinkansen inspection train. Hopefully more will join in the future. To control both trains, a MRC Tech4 280 dual controller was used and the kato turnout controls were connected to the MRC controller. The above is just testing the turnout and switching between trains on the inner track oval. Stay tuned for the next turnout for the outer oval track.
