I take on the final round of the RSR LMU GT3 Sprint Series at Algarve / Portimão in Le Mans Ultimate (LMU), closing out the season in the Porsche 911 GT3 R. I qualified P12, but had a strong launch at the start and immediately gained several positions before backing off slightly to avoid unnecessary contact and damage. Once the opening chaos settled, I focused on clean driving and capitalized on mistakes ahead to keep climbing the order. Mid-race, I began struggling with right-hand turns as the front-left tire wear became severe, so I made a key strategic call during the pit stop to change only the left-front tire, which turned out to be a smart and time-saving decision. Even with the tire advantage, the Porsche’s rear-engine behavior meant I still had to fight the car on corner exits, carefully managing throttle and using early upshifts to keep stability. With limited setup adjustments in this fixed setup championship and Portimão being a track that suits FR/MR cars more than the Porsche. I still managed to adapt and bring the car home in a strong P7 finish. Conclusion: Finishing P7 in the season finale secured P10 overall in my first full LMU championship season, even after missing Round 3 at Interlagos. The pace was there throughout the season, but early rounds showed how costly pit strategy mistakes and unfamiliarity with LMU’s VE/BOP behavior can be. By the end of the season, I was finally improving in every key area: strategy, tire management, and race execution and this Portimão result feels like a well-earned reward for that progress.
