Knots Landing: Season 9 (1987-88) clip (Lilimae leaves)

Here’s a send off scene to “Flight of the Sunbirds”, the 9th episode (199th overall) of the ninth season of the 1979-93 CBS drama “Knots Landing”, a spin-off of the popular 1978-91 CBS drama “Dallas”. This episode marks the final appearance of Julie Harris as Lilimae Clements. This episode originally aired on Thursday, November 19, 1987. Lilimae Clements (Julie Harris) meets homeless man Al Baker (Red Buttons) who has fallen in love with her. After a few dates, Al asked Lilimae to marry him. Lilimae wasn’t sure if that’s what she wants. Her daughter Valene Ewing Gibson (Joan Van Ark) tells her to follow her heart. To that end, Lilimae tells Al that they should live together, not get married. To that end, Al trends his car in for a trailer. However, Lilimae got his car back for Al. Valene, her ex-husband Gary Ewing (Ted Shackelford), and their children Bobby and Besty bid farewell as Lilimae and Al drive off together.
