This short documentary was shot in one of our favorite corners of China’s Yunnan Province. Lijiang is the name of a famous tourist city, but it is also the name of the prefecture surrounding it. The region is known for stunning mountain vistas, thriving indigenous cultures and some of the most pristine wilderness areas in the entire country. We interviewed seven expats who were captivated by this part of China and started new lives in Lijiang Prefecture. We asked them what makes the place so special to them and how living there has affected their lives. Their answers are as varied as the places they live.
