#obry #gmtx333 This was filmed December 17, 2021 at Various locations From Orangeville To Streetsville. I quickly got one GO train right before the OBRY Crossed the Brampton Diamond. I apologize for all the shots I've ruined and I have learned from those mistakes. This day was a long and sad day for railfans and many people who lived by the line. I spoke with Ralph Beaumont, the Author of a book called "Steam Trains To The Bruce", he used to see CPR passing through Orangeville on it's way to Owen Sound, and it was quite an experience to see trains come and go from Orangeville. The OBRY Was a 34 Mile long railway using the former CP Owen Sound Subdivision that started at Streetsville Junction all the way to Owen Sound. Passenger service ended between Toronto-Brampton-Orangeville in 1970. The Elora Branch was abandoned in 1987 and the tracks to Owen Sound were abandoned in 1995. The OBRY use to Interchange with CP at Streetsville Junction but CP still uses the line up to Mile 2.2. This part of the Line was part of the Credit Valley Railway line that was completed in 1879 but the Toronto, Grey & Bruce Railway ran on the northern section of this line near Orangeville starting in 1871 with the line branching out at the North end of Bolton siding. A decision was made to completely terminate rail service in Orangeville by December 31, 2021 but the last run ended up being December 17, 2021.
