There was once an Angling 360 dream; a dream of a 2lbs+ wild Scottish Roach. Three years later and any hope of that dream being realised has all but been extinguished. There has been plenty chat in the land of social media about such a fish being readily available, but the truth is that fish of this calibre are as common as a tartan unicorn. Big fish can easily be assumed to be of a certain weight, but all too often a set of scales will show them to be a country mile from expectations. Nevertheless, we resume our ever hopeful pursuit back on a local water, and the exact location where our two best fish to date were plucked from the vast shoals of mostly small silvers that pack the loch . Confidence levels were split 50:50, high with one; with the other, not so much, as the time of day, as it's proved in the past, can often be the difference. As it turned out and is occasionally the case, it became a session of reminiscence, and thoughts of more productive times.
