Habanera Gris by Alfredo Rolando Ortiz is one of those pieces that I just need to come back to every once in a while. I first learned it when my youngest (who is now 8) had just learned to stand unsupported, but couldn't really walk yet. I remember her starting to "dance" whenever she heard this piece. All she was capable of when it came to dancing at that point was to stand in one spot and bend her knees a little to the rhythm, and it was just the cutest sight ever... This piece has been changing gradually over the past couple years...and it will probably keep on changing every time I come back to it after putting it aside for a longer period of time. I must admit that I somehow regret that I never recorded it back when I learned it the first time round.
