Friends, There is one tobacco that is constantly competing with Prince Albert to take a rightful place as my favorite tobacco and that is no other than America's Smoothest Smoke, Velvet! This is a blend that has been around for ages and has been enjoyed by generations of pipe smokers the world over. It has changed hands from various manufacturers over the years and I like to believe that the formula has changed a little as well. Fortunately, it is still available today but is sadly no longer made in America. Now Velvet is a good old fashioned sun-ripened Kentucky burley pipe tobacco, aged and mellowed to perfection and flavored with pure maple sugar. Mmmmm talk about tasty, and I strongly believe you won't find a more classic nostalgic room note from any other blend. There is just something about it that keeps me going back for more. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a sealed can from the late 1960s-early 1970s when it was still made by Pinkerton Tobacco Company, a subsidiary of Liggett and Myers. I hope you enjoy this homage to one of the best pipe tobaccos ever made, and one of my all time favorites! Swell smokes always to you and yours!
