This data is from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The salaries do not include overtime, bonuses, benefits, signing bonuses, tips, or commissions. In 1999, the Bureau of Labor Statistics recorded $43,360 as the average base salary. By 2019, average base salaries rose to $91,620. Wages grew by $48,260 (or $4,022 yearly) from 1999-2019. The estimated 2020 average base salary would be $91,620, using $4,022 as the average yearly income. If trends were to continue, by 2029, the average base salary would rise to $131,837. Here is how the 2019 base salaries break down by Percentile. There is a $69,350 difference between the 10th Percentile and the 90th Percentile. 10th Percentile: $59,280 (starting salary estimate) 25th Percentile: $70,170 50th Percentile (Median Salary): $85,560 75th Percentile: $105,830 90th Percentile: $128,630 In 2019, the base salaries of radiation therapists were vastly different, depending on the state. The lowest paying state, Kansas, on average, pays radiation therapists $72,140. The highest paying state, California, on average, pays radiation therapists $119,800. There is a $47,660 difference in average wages between the highest paying and the lowest paying state. The job market for radiation therapists has grown since 1999. In 1999, there were 12,340 employed radiation therapists. By 2019, this rose to 17,860 employed radiation therapists. From 1999 - 2019, there was a growth of 5,520 employed radiation therapists (276 per year).
