MT4 Tutorials: How to Set Up Alerts

Well, they're in the bottom section of tabs here. 5 00:00:15 -- 00:00:18 Fifth one along, you click on alerts. 6 00:00:18 -- 00:00:19 This is the alert box. 7 00:00:19 -- 00:00:23 Now, there are two different ways of getting alerts. 8 00:00:23 -- 00:00:25 You can either do it through the chart. 9 00:00:25 -- 00:00:28 In this instance, I'm going to go through EUR/USD, 10 00:00:28 -- 00:00:33 You do a right hand, click on the chart, hover over Trading. Click on Alerts. 11 00:00:34 -- 00:00:39 To do that, it just automatically comes in. So I want to modify that. 12 00:00:39 -- 00:00:45 You either right-hand click and go to Modify, or just simply double-click on it. 13 00:00:45 -- 00:00:50 It brings up this next dialogue box. Obviously there are lots of different conditions you can set, 14 00:00:50 -- 00:00:53 You can have whether the alert is a sound or an email. 15 00:00:54 -- 00:00:58 You can choose the Expiration of the Alert. 16 00:00:58-- 00:01:04 The Conditions are probably the most important section you want to see what the price action you want to achieve is. 17 00:01:04 -- 00:01:08 I would like a bid price above a certain level. 18 00:01:08 -- 00:01:15 In this instance, I'm going to say, a Bid above $1.1747 19 00:01:16 -- 00:01:18 Number of iterations. 20 00:01:19 -- 00:01:26 It’s already done it, so let's do that again at $1.1748 21 00:01:28 -- 00:01:30 Then it's at the bottom here. 22 00:01:30 -- 00:01:34 I can wait to see if that gets triggered on an Alert. 23 00:01:34 -- 00:01:40 You can see here also on the chart, you now get an arrow where that Alert is sitting. 24 00:01:41 -- 00:01:44 So the other way of getting Alerts is to right-hand click 25 00:01:45 -- 00:01:51 And go to Create again brings you up the box here 26 00:01:51 -- 00:01:55 In this instance, I'm going to do a Cable alert for GBP/USD 27 00:01:56 -- 00:01:57 I’m not going to have expiry on this one 28 00:01:57 -- 00:02:09 I'm going to have the bid price falling below a certain level, which is $1.3849. 29 00:02:11 -- 00:02:16 Numbers of interations five. Again, okay. 30 00:02:16 -- 00:02:17 And we can see that here. 31 00:02:17 -- 00:02:22 Oh, that's my at GBP/USD Alert, 32 00:02:22 -- 00:02:29 We can see here on the chart. And we have been triggered on the Alert, for a second time.
