"Next Stage" (Extreme Demon) by Zipixbox | Geometry Dash 2.2

About a year ago, I uploaded "Controlled Chaos" by Zipixbox, which ended up being one of the best, if not the best, Extreme Demon of 2025. The fact that it was a solo level that kept a consistent theme at such a high quality over 4 minutes was really impressive. Now, Zipixbox is back with a new banger at about the same length, in which they got some help from Wespdx, GD Iris, and ItsHybrid. The layout is a remake of an old level by the same name (ID 16910567), and it's also worth noting that some gameplay is randomized, like the placement of the obstacles at 4:05 and some other open parts. Since this is an Extreme Demon, I don't have too much to comment on there personally, but if it's anything like "Controlled Chaos", it should be enjoyable for people at this skill level. The visuals are what really catch my eyes here. It's largely grayscale, but it still manages to be interesting throughout to me. This is due to very cool designs and backgrounds in pretty much every part. Some parts may look familiar, like at 1:40 and 2:20, and it's easy to know why due to the level title in the top right. I really like that they clearly credited the sampled part like this, but it still also stands on its own visually due to some foreground effects and the changed color scheme. These flashbacks to iconic levels, as well as the grayscale color scheme, is apparently based on a boss using the same song in the fangame I Wanna Kill The Kamilia 3. I think this is a really cool choice of theme that was adapted and executed extremely well in Geometry Dash, as shown here. The only thing I could see being a little repetitive is the aforementioned grayscale color scheme, but when it's done intentionally like this with so much variety in other aspects, I don't mind personally. Also, as a result, when the level does mix in other colors, such as at 3:41, it hits so much harder. All in all, if there aren't any major issues in gameplay or performance, I see this being another Legendary level for Zipixbox.
