So, I really like this game. I obviously did "I Am... All of Me" a few months back, but once I actually played the game, this was immediately added to my list of covers I wanted to do. I wasn't entirely sure how I was going to arrange it going in, but when I sat down to do so, I began to have some really cool ideas that were reminiscent of a few different Periphery songs, so I decided to lean into as many of them as I could. So you have Absolomb, Dying Star, Satellites, and LUNE all rolled up into one song here! It did mean the original song is almost unrecognisable, but I really wanted to go all out for this one! Unfortunately, as I was mixing it... I hit a wall. I couldn't get these sounds to sit well together at fucking all! The version you're hearing is the one I subtitled "help" because it was ultimately a fine mix, but just wasn't what I was trying to go for. I really need to find a producer who works on this kind of music who can sit in my studio with me and help me nail down all the stuff I need to nail down, like my signal chain, the Axe-FX patches, the drums, the mixing, the mastering, all that stuff. I just don't have someone like that; ToxicxEternity has been a great help, but he only has so much influence if he isn't here in my studio with me. Alas, as usually happens every now and again, I am unhappy with my sounds. Oh well, it'll click eventually. There's some secret I'm not understanding just yet, and I need more time to work on these songs to figure it out. My sounds for Year 2 are going to be fully revamped once I have a vague idea of what I need to do to fix them. Only time will tell, but right now I'm not happy with the overall mix of this. Next week, a tropical song from the game that shouldn't exist... why does it exist? If I could go back in time, I would erase it from history and force Nintendo to start it from scratch.
