On 11 April 2025, tinypod launched its “Train Pod” train hotel and guests will be able to start booking rooms from 2nd Half of 2025 onwards! Room rates are around $80-$90 on weekdays and $100-120 on weekends. The train can accommodate 8 rooms total, with two special rooms at the front and back. Watch the video to check out the tour! Special thanks to @singaporetrains for the invite! The train is a retired 3rd Generation Kawasaki Heavy Industries & Nippon Sharyo C751B (KNS) which served the North South East West Lines from 2000 to 2024. The DT Carriage of Set 325/326 (3326) was donated by SMRT to the company. It was remarkable to see a decommissioned MRT carriage to have a new walk of life, being used as an exclusive first in Singapore experience. I hope Singapore adapts preservation culture more, especially in areas of transport as it shows the milestones and building blocks of what made our transport system the way it is now. Since the KNS trains are fully decommissioned, Train Pod is like a museum as well! A fragment of history in the heart of Singapore. More information can be found here: https://www.tinypod.com/train-pod SGT2581 Announcement: With LTA announcing the retirement of the First, Second and Third Generation Trains in Singapore, (Kawasaki Heavy Industries Contract 151, Siemens Aktiengesellschaft C651 and Kawasaki Nippon Sharyo C751B), both of us will be filming more of these trains on both NSL and EWL, to commemorate the great service that these trains have provided.
