As if the cold rain and ice hasn't been enough, we still have more bad weather coming our way. Temperatures are supposed to stay below freezing for a period of 48 to 72 hours. UPS driver Jim Hughs says shipments have come in late due to weather and now he has to deliver those. "I'll do what I always do- bundle up and deliver packages," Hughes said. We found someone else working with a lot of cold tonight but Ryder Pierce says he didn't last long out in it earlier. "I was out washing the windows for the store for about four or five minutes and that was way too long. It was too cold out there," Pierce said. Pierce works at the Ice Cream Show in Downtown Chattanooga. He says he's seen people running in the cold and even eating it despite the temperatures. "I applaud them for their devotion to doing it because I wouldn't be," he says. Peirce says there are things he does to prepare for the bitter cold, such as making sure he has enough anti-freeze and leaving some of the faucets barely dripping in his house so that pipes don't bust. Mechanics like Bo Ray say that's smart. He says it also wouldn't hurt to got out and pick up a can of de-icer for frozen car doors and windshield wipers. But it isn't just the cold we'll be fighting for the next several hours. The wind is supposed pick up. Jelena Butler says she felt the beginnings of that walking across the Walnut Street Bridge tonight. She says, "It's not that cold until you get to the middle of the bridge then the wind picks up and it gets icy." Butler says bundling up is key this week. "It's nice to get out and get some fresh air. It's nice and crisp and it feels good."
