In 2008, NYU professor Walt Forsberg, along with two library staffers, created a 21-minute study aid designed to identify who created which movie theater snipe and/or policy trailer. Edited digitally from that original study aid is a compilation of theater snipes and policy trailers never before seen on YouTube. (Edited because better quality versions of some of the snipes edited out have already been uploaded). For the first time on YouTube you will see: --A lost "Don't Flick Your Bic" trailer limiting smoking to the outer lobby. --A lost "Wednesday" trailer from NSSC's "Astro" series. --A black-and-white Flavo's Shrimp Rolls ad. --Missing daters from between 1946-85. --Lucky Seat snipes. --Pike Productions' "Two for the Show" popcorn trailer from 1976. --Two lost General Cinema snipes produced by Filmack between 1977(Coming Attractions) and 1980 (Now Showing) --A bargain matinee trailer from the late 1960s or early 1970s. --Several Christmas trailers (including one that appeared circa 1978 at the GCC Town and Country Cinema in Whitehall, Ohio, may have been produced by Filmack, and three 1970s NSSC, at least one of which appeared at the State Theater in Columbia, PA.) For three of the 1980s theater snipes (Film Reel in space), the audio has been restored somewhat, otherwise the audio is in "as-is" condition. Special thanks to Walt Forsberg (35mmsnipes.tumblr.com) whose study aid was the basis for the video, to Robbie Mack at Filmack, to MPAC, National Screen Service Corporation., and to Pike Productions here in the states, and RecordCouncil over in Australia, without all of whom this would not be made possible.
