It's that time of year where YVR is experiencing low visibility operations. The thick fog that blanketed the city of Vancouver on the day this video was filmed quickly lifted around late morning, raising the visibility from 1/8th of a mile to 5 miles. However, mist still moved across the airfield providing some challenging filming conditions with the constantly changing lighting. As for some updates moving through the month of January: • United Airlines restarted their YVR-ORD route as UA1534 (seen in the video) after a short break over the holiday period • Hong Kong airlines has confirmed their resumption of pre-Covid service to YVR on January 18th – stay tuned for an upcoming video! • Despite the dire situation down in Southern California, I have confirmed my spotting trip to LAX for the 28-31st of January.
