At this point you will have your guidelines for where your folds need to be. Lets make sure they're going in the right direction. Your first fold must be a valley fold. Next fold should be a mountain fold, followed by valley, mountain, valley, mountain, valley. Pick up the paper and divide it in the middle of your folds so it lies flat. There should be two folds on one side of the centre and two folds on the other side of the centre. Now it's time to make our pages. Fold a small section of the paper from one end up (approx ¾ of an inch). This section will become your pages in the book. Now we need to fold more guidelines. Take pages in your hand and fold them perpendicular to the centre fold line. Line up your page crease with the centre line to ensure it is exactly 90 degrees. Crease the 45 degree fold. Do the same on the other side (same end). Unfold your paper. Make sure your page crease is at the top. Fold your page crease over so that you are looking at the white side. Directly below the page crease there'll be a triangle. Make sure each of these triangle sides are valley creases. With the page crease folded perpendicular to the rest of the paper, begin to press the page in towards the triangle in each of the fan folds. You now have the pages of the book. Take the long tail of the book and fold it in line with the pages of the book. Ensure that this triangle crease is crisp. Unfold the long tail, place your middle finder in the middle of the fan fold and press both sides of the fan fold perpendicular to the pages of your book. Unfold each side of your paper and flip your pages towards you. Press your crease down (it won't match the ends of your pages). Flip your paper over. Unfold each side of the paper. Bring your pages towards the front and ensure that this line does match up with the ends of the pages. Flip your paper over. Fold the pages of the book towards you. Ensure the top edge is past the edges of the book. This will be the bottom of your book. Fold the edge nearest to you towards the pages of the book. This will be the top of your book. You'll want to allow a little extra room at the top of your book to form the covers of the book. Fold the end of the paper towards the pages to form the covers of the book. Do this on both ends. Tuck the top fold into the covers of the book. Unfold the book covers. Untuck the top fold. As you fold the cover back over, tuck the top fold in behind the cover. Do the same on the other side.
