Signifying the end of the initial officer training course for Army, the Royal Military College - Duntroon, in Canberra, hosts a graduation parade marking the conclusion of 18 months of training. Since the original class at Duntroon graduated in August 1914, the Graduation Parade has traditionally been the final parade of the senior class as members of the Corps of Staff Cadets. The First Class formally takes leave of the Corps as it marches off the parade ground to the strains of ‘Auld Lang Syne,’ ‘Maori's Farewell’ and ‘Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye'. On 11 December 2018, the 133rd class graduated. The Reviewing Officer was His Excellency General the Honourable Peter Cosgrove, AK, MC (retd). During the parade, His Excellency General the Honourable Peter Cosgrove, AK, MC (retd) presented the Sword of Honour for the Cadet with exemplary conduct and performance and the Queen's Medal for the Cadet with the highest aggregate marks.
