This installment illustrates and demonstrates the steps to load the three-band rifled musket "In-Nine-Times" as written in the United States Army “Casey’s Manual” for Infantry Soldiers - a manual of arms used primarily by the Union Army during the Civil War. The three-part tome was published by the War Department in 1862 as an update to an earlier manual written by William Hardee and now used widely by not only the Union Army but by Confederates as well. In 1862, Hardee was now a Confederate Major General.
