Transcendental Lullaby No. 1 - Requiem Natalis Composed and Performed by Mrinank This piece is a story, inspired by Mozart’s Twinkle Twinkle Little Star variations. It takes a simple, lyrical theme and transforms it into something vast, emotional, and transcendent. Over the months, I've added new concepts to this, pulling from different musical eras to create a single, coherent piece—one that takes the simplest ideas and turns them into something more. What are the Transcendental Lullabies? They are basically complete stories derived from simple nursery rhymes, lullabies, and other simple songs, just like how this piece—number one in that series is composed from the birthday song. No. 2 has already been composed and recorded, it’s based on marry had a little lamb and its name is “Transcendental Lullaby No. 2 - Paschal Corder” It truly is a masterpiece, to me at least—as every note that’s played in it has been written with love, care, time, and effort. It has the best of me, and all of my experiences I’ve gathered since my hands first took forth to this incredible journey that playing the piano would become: such as double-handed trills with the melody intact, huge leaps, a separate fantasy section, scale shifting from A to C to the pentatonic scale, and so much more!
