Whisky Review #55 | Cadenhead's Enigma Highland Park 19 Year Old 54.7% ABV

Up for review today I try out a 19 year old from an Orkney distillery (Highland Park), bottled by independent bottler Cadenhead's, as part of their Enigma series. In short it is a very interesting, intriguing bottle that I would not have guessed was from Highland Park, purely based on the nose. It is on the palate where things are revealed and the more classic Highland Park notes come out on full display, with that heathery style peat. Also has some light sherry notes too which add more character to the dram in my opinion. I also do a comparison tasting with a 15 year old Highland Park from Thompson Bros which reveals itself straight away. I enjoyed doing this tasting as for me it imparts knowledge, and also showcases how drams from the same distillery can be so different, yet ultimately very similar in the sum of their parts.
